The Jose P. Graduate Scholarship Program was created to address the staffing needs in critical shortage areas and to improve the delivery of service to New York City Public School students. This program prepares participants to serve in the areas of Bilingual Special Education, Monolingual and Bilingual Speech-Language Pathology, Blind and Visually Impaired, and Bilingual School Psychology. The scholarship program offers uncertified candidates a traditional path to certification by way of a Master's degree in a traditional teaching or clinical shortage area. |

Ruth Abernathy Presidential Scholarship |

Since 1995, the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance has awarded scholarships to outstanding undergraduate and graduate student members. The Ruth Abernathy Presidential Scholarship, developed by the past presidents of AAHPERD to honor deserving students, is awarded to three undergraduate students and two graduate students in January of each year. All scholarships are presented at the AAHPERD National Convention & Exposition held in the spring. Undergraduate awards are $1,250 each and graduate awards are $1,750 each.
