AORN Foundation Varies

Foundation scholarships are awarded to students pursuing a career in perioperative nursing, and to perioperative registered nurses who are continuing their education by pursuing a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree.

DAR Nursing $2000-2500

The Caroline E. Holt Nursing Scholarship is a one-time $2500 scholarship  awarded to one student in financial need who has been accepted and enrolled into an accredited school of nursing.

The Madeline Pickett (Halbert) Cogswell Nursing Scholarship is a one-time $2000 scholarship awarded to two students who are accepted or enrolled in an accredited school of nursing. Applicants must be members, descendants of members or be eligible for membership in NSDAR.

The Mildred Nutting Nursing Scholarship is a one-time $2000 scholarship for two students who are in financial need and who have been accepted or are currently enrolled in an accredited school of nursing. Preference will be given to candidates from the Lowell, MA area.

Edna A. Lauterbach Scholarship Fund Up to $5900

The Edna A. Lauterbach Scholarship is available every Spring for New York State Registered Nurses (RNs) or Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) who are planning to further their career in home and community-based care. Applicants for the scholarship must currently hold an RN or LPN from New York State to be eligible for consideration. Applicants are asked to write an essay to explain why they would like to pursue a career in home and community-based care and how they plan to achieve that goal through educational or entrepreneurial means. Scholarship funds may be used for tuition, books, specialty training and education, and other education-related expenses.

Deborah E. Trautman Future Nurse Leader Scholarship $3500

This $3,500 scholarship is designed to recognize graduate nursing students who aspire to leadership positions in academic nursing. In addition to $2,000 to cover educational expenses which is sent directly to the student, scholarship recipients will participate in a one-on-one leadership development experience with Dr. Trautman at AACN’s headquarters in Washington, DC. Up to $1,500 of the scholarship award will be used to cover travel expenses for the three-day leadership development program.

AfterCollege/AACN Scholarship $10,000

The AfterCollege-AACN Scholarship Fund supports students who are seeking a baccalaureate, master’s or doctoral degree in nursing. Special consideration will be given to students in a graduate program with the goal of becoming a nurse educator; students completing an RN-to-BSN or RN-to-MSN program; and those enrolled in an accelerated program.

Foundation of the National Student Nurses’ Association (FNSNA) Scholarships $1000-7500

FNSNA Scholarships are open to students currently enrollment and matriculated in a state-approved nursing program leading to an associate degree, baccalaureate, diploma, generic pre-licensure doctorate or generic pre-licensure master’s degree; or enrolled in an RN to BSN completion, RN to MSN completion, or LPN/LVN to RN program.

AACN Geraldine Bednash Scholarship $5000

Two $5,000 scholarships will be distributed to top nursing school applicants four times each year. Applicants must be admitted or enrolled in a baccalaureate or higher degree nursing program at an AACN member institution affiliated with CastleBranch.

This scholarship recognizes the outstanding work of graduate nursing students who are advancing the nursing profession through a commitment to innovation, leadership, and/or mentoring. Applicants must be enrolled in an AACN graduate nursing program and be a member of GNSA.

National Association of Hispanic Nurses Varies

Scholarship recipients are a select group of Hispanic nursing students who demonstrate promise of professional contributions to the nursing profession and who have the potential to act as role models for other aspiring nursing students. Scholarship awards are presented to NAHN members enrolled in accredited LVN/LPN, associate, diploma, baccalaureate, and graduate nursing programs.

National Black Nurses Association $1000-5000

NBNA is committed to excellence in education and conducts continuing education programs for nurses and allied health professionals throughout the year. The association provides annual scholarships for students. Must be a member of NBNA and a member of a local chapter (if one exists in your area). Candidate must be currently enrolled in a nursing program (B.S.N., A.D., Diploma or L.P.N./ L.V.N. Masters , and Doctoral) and in good scholastic standing at the time of application.

National Health Service Corps Tuition remission and monthly stipend

Nurse practitioner students can reduce their educational debt through the National Health Service Corps (NHSC) Scholarship Program (SP) or the NURSE Corps Scholarship Program (NURSE Corps SP). Administered by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Health Resources and Services Administration, these scholarship programs support nurse practitioner students committed to working in communities with limited access to care. Students can apply to one program—or both—but may only accept a scholarship from one.

NURSE Corps Scholarship Program Tuition remission and stipend

NURSE Corps Scholarship Program (NCSP) enables students accepted or enrolled in a diploma, associate, baccalaureate or graduate nursing programs (including Nursing Bridge Programs: RN to BSN; RN to NP and non-nursing Bachelor’s to NP) are eligible to receive funding for tuition, fees and other educational costs in exchange for working at an eligible Critical Shortage Facility (CSF) upon graduation. The NURSE Corps Scholarship Program is a selective program of the U.S. Government that helps alleviate the critical shortage of nurses currently experienced by certain types of health care facilities located in Health Professional Shortage Areas (HPSAs). Upon graduation, NURSE Corps Scholarship recipients work at these facilities for at least 2 years, earning the same competitive salary and benefits as any new hire. As much as half of the award funds are reserved for students pursuing a master’s level nurse practitioner degree.

Barbara Rhomberg Nursing Scholarship $1000

The Barbara Rhomberg Excellence in Nursing Scholarship, sponsored by B4 Brands, is awarded each year to a non-traditional, fulltime student pursuing undergraduate degrees in nursing.  Scholarship winners receive a non-renewable scholarship of $1,000 payable directly to the institution in which they are enrolled.

Sharps Compliance Scholarship Program $750-1500

Sharps' essay contest is open to all students who have been accepted to, or are currently enrolled in an accredited university in healthcare related studies. We will be awarding three prizes to the top three essays chosen by our panel of judges. Open to undergraduate and graduate students.

Christie Foundation Health Education Scholarships Varies

Each year, the Christie Foundation awards over $125,000 to students pursuing degrees in the medical field through their Health Education Scholarship program. Paul Ambrose Scholars Program Project support and support to attend conference

The Paul Ambrose Scholars Program prepares public health and clinical health professions students to promote change and be leaders in addressing population health challenges at the national and community level.  Each year, the Paul Ambrose Scholars Program selects a cohort of 40 students from across the health professions to attend a Student Leadership Symposium.  Students commit their time and effort to improve health within their communities through the planning and implementation of a community-based project.  The Paul Ambrose Scholars Program helps students cultivate leadership and organizational skills in public health education outside of the classroom.
