Media Center: Welcome

The Media Center, located on the 5th floor of the LLC building, provides video and audio resources for the entire LIU Brooklyn community. We have thousands of feature films and documentaries in our collection—everything from early silent film to the most recent Oscar winners. Most items in the collection are circulating, and can be checked out by anyone with an LIU ID; videos that are restricted or on reserve are available for viewing at one of the Media Center’s viewing stations. The LIU Libraries also has a growing collection of streaming video collection.

The Media Center encompasses a small classroom that can be reserved in advance­—preferably at the beginning of each semester—by faculty for in-class screenings. This room is available for classes of twenty students or fewer; instructors must be present during class. Course instructors should schedule use of the room by submitting the Media Center Screening Room Request Form. Media from our collection may also be borrowed for use in LIU classrooms; contact Campus IT to reserve the appropriate audio visual equipment.
