If an item you need is currently checked out or only available at another LIU campus library, you may request it (aka intralibrary loan). Simply click the “Request” link that appears beneath the item in the library catalog search results. You will need to log in with your library account if you are not already logged in.
The Circulation Department will notify you by phone or email when the materials requested are available, and hold them for you at the Circulation Desk. You will have three days to pick up the item before it is placed back on the shelf or returned to the appropriate campus.Requests for books from other campuses take two to three days to arrive.
Requests for materials currently checked out can take until the materials are due. The current borrower will not be able to renew any items you have requested. When requested materials are checked out by borrowers with 120-day privileges, a recall may be issued at the Circulation Department’s discretion.
