The second of the two first place winners of the sixth annual LIU Brooklyn Library Prize is Arianna Marshall of LIU Global with a project titled "Strengthening Coastal Communities’ Prosperity: The Role of Local Marine Conservation Projects in Pemuteran, Bali, Indonesia."

The 2nd of the two winners of the fifth annual LIU Brooklyn Library Prize (2023) is Helen Pan of the School of Nursing with a project titled "Feminization of Poverty and Gender Gap: Understanding the Relationship and Promoting Gender Equality for Poverty Reduction."

Nora, Terra, Caitlin, and Victoria were honored at a virtual awards ceremony on May 19th. Friends and family were in attendance, as well as faculty and administrators. Dean of University Libraries Ingrid Wang, Dean of the Global College Terence Blackburn, and Professor Kate Angell all spoke in celebration of the excellent research conducted by these four students.

The first place winner of the inaugural prize is Keshia Desir of the School of Nursing with a project titled “Barriers non-unionized construction workers face when seeking healthcare: A mixed-methods study.” The second place winner is also in the School of Nursing: Christine Polintan with a project titled “A literature review on increasing resiliency of undergraduate nursing students in the clinical setting through an educational seminar.” The third place winner is LIU Global student Sophie Gagnaire, with a project titled “The impacts of post-genocide jurisprudence: How is the ICTY perceived by survivors of the Bosnian genocide?”
Keshia, Christine, and Sophie were honored at an awards ceremony at the Library on May 1st. Each of the three students were presented with a gift card and a plaque commemorating this accomplishment. In addition to members of the library faculty, Global College and Nursing faculty and administrators also came to celebrate the research achievements of these students.
