Why can't I use my cell phone in the library?
To avoid disrupting the research and study of library users and to minimize noise at service points, cellular telephones should be turned off before entering the library.

Individual study area on the 3rd and 4th floors are quieter than other areas of the Library. In general, students find that the 5th floor stack area is a quiet study location.

Can I eat/drink in the library?
In general, hot meals and uncapped drinks are not allowed in the Library. This policy is intended to discourage rodents and insects, reduces damage to library materials, and helps us keep the Library cleaner for everyone. Small snacks and bottled drinks are generally allowed, but food and drink are not allowed at computer workstations and in the stacks.

Why doesn't the library have my textbook?
Most academic libraries do not generally buy textbooks. There are several reasons for this: Most textbook titles are constantly being updated, making the current edition out-dated in a brief period of time. The cost of buying every textbook for each class on campus would seriously diminish the Library's ability to buy other books and materials important for research. Please note that individual professors sometimes put a copy of their course textbook on reserve.
